CBRC Health & Fitness was built in 1981 as a tennis club with 6 tennis courts, 8 racquetball courts, and a lounge. A 25-meter outdoor pool was added in 1987. CBRC’s current ownership group purchased CBRC Health & Fitness in 1991. A few years later, in 1995, CBRC expanded tremendously by removing two tennis courts and adding the cardio area/yoga/massage and a new tennis wing, which included outdoor clay courts and a tennis lobby.
In 2003 CBRC Health & Fitness became even more advanced. CBRC removed five racquetball courts, added the kid’s area, moved the billing and membership offices, expanded the men’s locker room, and then added the party room, storage room, family changing area, and an indoor pool office.
Four years later, in 2007, CBRC remodeled the women’s locker rooms and upstairs restrooms. In 2011, new equipment was incorporated into the fitness center which included 2 circuits and cable cross equipment. However, two extremely important years for CBRC Health & Fitness were 2012 and 2013. During these two years, Pelican Bay was built at a total cost of $2.5 million. The Sandbar, lifeguard office, zero-entry pool, lazy river, and play structure were all a part of the Pelican Bay addition.
