Food Service Attendant
CBRC Health & Fitness
CBRC Health & Fitness is seeking friendly, dependable, and energetic Food Service Attendants to join our team.
If you enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in providing great service, this could be a great opportunity for you.
At CBRC, our core purpose is building a community and inspiring healthier lives. Our Food Service team contributes to that experience by providing members, guests, and families with convenient food and beverage options served with a welcoming attitude and exceptional customer service.
The Role
As a Food Service Attendant, you will help with the day-to-day operation of CBRC’s food and beverage services, including our Deli and, seasonally, the Sandbar at Pelican Bay.
This is a hands-on, customer-focused position that may include preparing and serving food and beverages, taking orders, processing transactions, stocking supplies, maintaining clean work areas, and helping members and guests have a great experience.
We are looking for team members who are willing to jump in wherever needed, enjoy staying busy, and understand that great service is about both the product we serve and how we make people feel.
This is a part-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and serve menu items according to CBRC recipes, portion standards, and food-safety practices.
- Process point-of-sale transactions and payments accurately.
- Provide prompt and attentive customer service.
- Answer questions about menu items and available food and beverage options.
- Maintain clean, sanitary, organized, and well-stocked food service areas.
- Stock food, beverages, supplies, utensils, and other items as needed.
- Follow proper procedures for food storage, handling, preparation, and product rotation.
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
- Help monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items to Food Service leadership.
- Properly clean and maintain food preparation areas, counters, equipment, tables, and other service areas.
- Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety requirements.
- Assist with food and beverage service for CBRC programs, special events, and seasonal activities as needed.
- Support seasonal operations at the Sandbar at Pelican Bay when scheduled.
- Respond to member questions or concerns with professionalism and a helpful attitude.
- Work collaboratively with Food Service team members and other CBRC departments.
- Model professionalism, dependability, teamwork, and CBRC’s commitment to exceptional member service.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal Food Service Attendant is friendly, dependable, and comfortable working in a busy environment. You enjoy interacting with people, pay attention to details, and are willing to help wherever needed to keep the operation running smoothly.
Previous food service experience is helpful, but equally important is a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Strong candidates will bring:
- A friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Dependability and the ability to arrive prepared and on time for scheduled shifts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing orders and processing transactions.
- A commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
- The ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
- A willingness to learn new skills and take direction.
- Previous restaurant, deli, café, concession, or other food service experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Because this is an active food service position, Food Service Attendants must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
- Bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive movements associated with food preparation and service.
- Safely operate food service equipment after appropriate training.
- Lift and carry food, beverages, supplies, and equipment as required.
- Work in indoor and seasonal outdoor food service environments.
- Maintain an active pace during busy service periods.
Schedule
This is a part-time position.
Schedules may include daytime and evening shifts, weekends, holidays, special events, and seasonal shifts based on CBRC’s food service needs.
Dependability and flexibility are important to maintaining consistent service for our members and guests.
Compensation
Pay range: $17.13–$18.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Why CBRC?
At CBRC, Food Service is about more than preparing an order. It’s another opportunity to make members and guests feel welcome and cared for.
Whether you’re greeting a member at the Deli, serving a family enjoying a summer day at Pelican Bay, or helping with a special event, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the sense of community that makes CBRC special.
We are looking for people who bring a positive attitude to work, enjoy being part of a team, and take pride in providing friendly and dependable service.
If you enjoy working with people, like staying active and busy, and want to be part of a welcoming, community-focused team, we’d love to hear from you.
