Water Aerobics Instructor

Water Aerobics Instructor

CBRC Health & Fitness

CBRC Health & Fitness is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and motivating Water Aerobics Instructor to join our aquatics and fitness team.

If you enjoy helping people stay active, love the energy of group exercise, and know how to create a class where participants feel both challenged and successful, we would love to hear from you.

At CBRC, our core purpose is building a community and inspiring healthier lives. Our Water Aerobics Instructors bring that purpose to life by providing safe, effective, and enjoyable classes that help members improve their strength, cardiovascular fitness, mobility, and overall well-being—all in a supportive group environment.

The Role

As a Water Aerobics Instructor, you will lead engaging aquatic fitness classes for a diverse member population with varying fitness levels and abilities.

Our instructors do more than lead exercises. They create energy, build relationships with participants, provide appropriate modifications, and make each class an experience members look forward to attending.

This is a part-time position, with morning and weekend class opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safe, effective, engaging, and enjoyable water aerobics classes.
  • Create a welcoming and encouraging environment for participants of varying ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
  • Plan and deliver well-organized classes appropriate for the participants and class format.
  • Clearly demonstrate and explain exercises, movements, and proper technique.
  • Provide appropriate exercise modifications and progressions to help members participate safely and successfully.
  • Monitor participants throughout class and make member safety a priority.
  • Motivate and encourage participants while helping them work toward their individual fitness goals.
  • Build positive relationships with members and help create a sense of community within classes.
  • Begin and end classes on time and arrive prepared to provide a professional experience.
  • Properly use and care for aquatic fitness equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized pool and class environment.
  • Stay current on aquatic fitness techniques, education, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain all certifications required for the position.
  • Work collaboratively with CBRC’s aquatics and fitness teams to provide an exceptional member experience.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal Water Aerobics Instructor combines fitness knowledge with enthusiasm and an ability to connect with people.

You understand that participants come to class with different goals and abilities. You can create an environment where members feel comfortable participating at their own level while still receiving a safe, effective, and motivating workout.

Strong candidates will bring:

  • A nationally recognized Aquatics or Aquatic Fitness Instructor certification, such as AEA, AFAA, or an equivalent recognized certification.
  • Two to five years of water aerobics or group fitness teaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The confidence and energy to lead and motivate a group.
  • The ability to work effectively with members of varying ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
  • Knowledge of safe and effective aquatic exercise techniques.
  • A positive, encouraging, and welcoming approach to working with members.
  • Dependability, professionalism, and punctuality.
  • A passion for fitness and helping others live healthier, more active lives.

Schedule

This is a part-time position.

Compensation

Pay range: $17.13–$18.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Why CBRC?

At CBRC, Water Aerobics is about more than exercise. It’s an opportunity for members to become stronger, improve their fitness, move with confidence, and connect with others in a fun and supportive environment.

Our instructors are an important part of what keeps members coming back. They know their participants, create an encouraging atmosphere, celebrate progress, and make fitness something members can genuinely enjoy.

If you are an enthusiastic aquatic fitness professional who loves motivating people and creating classes that are safe, effective, and fun, we’d love to have you on the CBRC team.
