ACTIVITIES

Itinerary
Day 1 (Sunday, February 23rd)
Arrival, Sky Lagoon
Arrive at the Keflavík airport where a driver will be waiting to greet our group. After a short city tour of Reykjavík, we will get our first experience of a true Icelandic bathing culture at the Sky Lagoon. After Sky Lagoon, we will be transported to our hotel.

Day 2 (Monday, February 24th)
Western Fjord
After Breakfast, we will join our Icelandic Guide, Eirikur, for a trip to the Southwestern Fjord of Borgafjörður where we will visit the Grábrók Crater and the Hraunfossar/Barnafoss Waterfalls. You have the option to join your Retreat Leaders on a brisk walk to the top of the Grabrok Crater,
a part of the Ljosufjoll volcanic system, where we will enjoy an incredible view of the Borgafjörður countryside and encircling mountains. We will visit the Hraunfossar, known as Lava Falls in English, where the waterfall streams out of the Hallmundarhraun lava field. From there we will take a
short hike to Barnafoss. We will experience geothermal bathing with a visit to Hvammsvík Baths, which offers a set of naturally heated thermal pools located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 3 (Tuesday, February 25th)
Golden Circle
Today, we will explore the Golden Circle, a popular route within Iceland. We will visit Þingvellir National Park, which holds both historical and geological significance. We will walk between the North American and European tectonic plates. We will enjoy a cup of tomato soup at Friðheimar Farm; which is famous for its tomatoes that are grown year-round in greenhouses. They also breed Icelandic horses, a breed unique to Iceland that is known for their variety in gait, colors, strength, endurance, and good temperament. Upon leaving Friðheimar, we will kick the action up a gear with a 3-hour snowmobiling tour of Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. We will visit the iconic Gullfoss waterfall and the Geyser Geothermal area. After dinner, we will search for the Northern lights with the help of our guide in the hotel garden.

Day 4 (Wednesday, February 26th)
South Shore
After a morning yoga session and breakfast, we will venture south. Our first stop will be at the majestic and picturesque Seljalandsfoss. We will then strap on harnesses and crampons for a glacier hike at the Sólheimajökul Glacier where we will see ice formations, crevasses, and water cauldrons. We will visit one of Iceland’s largest waterfalls, Skogafoss, before visiting the black sand beach of Reynisfjara outside of Vík.

Day 5 (Thursday, February 27th)
Rekjadalur Valley
We will travel to Reykjadalur Valley, a valley filled with hot springs and mud pools. We will take a scenic hike through the valley, with an option to soak in the hot river. Afterwards, we will explore the magnificent lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir, one of the longest and best-known lava
tubes in Iceland, before heading back to Reykjavik.

Day 6 (Friday, February 28th)
Blue Lagoon, Departure
After breakfast, our group will head to the famous Blue Lagoon before being transported to the Keflavík airport for our departure flights home.
