Columbia Basin Racquet Club values its members and staff. Once a month, the blog will spotlight someone from the CBRC family to give readers an inside scope of the people in the community at the premier health club in town.
SPOTLIGHT: MEET DAN
This month, we are proud to feature Dan Rowland, one of our staff on the Maintenance crew. Since February of 1999, Dan has been a valuable, dedicated staff member. This year he celebrated 20 years of working with CBRC, and we would like to thank him for all of his years of service!
INSIDE THE JOB
When asked what his typical day looks like and Dan shares that “If I’m not repairing fitness equipment, then I’m outside doing grounds work.” The picture shown at the top of this blog post shows Dan doing just that – in the midst of all the snow we had!
Dan has really enjoyed building relationships with other staff members and getting to know the members over the years. It has been his favorite part of the job. One of his best memories of CBRC was becoming friends with a colleague, Dave Vanderveen, who also worked in Maintenance. Dan shares that they “stayed best friends until he passed away.”
OUTSIDE OF WORK
In addition to working at CBRC for 20 years, Dan has also enjoyed working at his church for the past 25 years. He also ran his own business repairing fitness equipment.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, and enjoying some of his many hobbies. Dan shares that he likes to “power walk with my Sheltie, ride my bike, hike, fish, paint, read, draw, and watch movies.”
CBRC would not be what it is today without its hardworking, passionate staff. Staff members, like Dan, are very much a part of the CBRC Family. Dan shares that “I truly love my job, and all the people I work with. I’m happy doing what I do!” On behalf of CBRC, Dan, thank you so much for your continued dedication and excellent work. Happy 20 years at CBRC!
