We’re nearing the end of January and it’s a good time to take stock of how you’re meeting your fitness resolutions. If you need a boost, the personal trainers at Columbia Basin Racquet Club can give you the tools and confidence to keep going.
Before you schedule time with a trainer, you’ll meet with Morgan Fewel, CBRC’s Fitness Director. Because all of the personal trainers hold a two or four-year degree and/or a nationally accredited certification, they have specialties to meet the needs of members. Morgan will connect you with a trainer who can best help you reach your goals.
PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION
The value of working with a personal trainer is that you can receive personalized instruction from someone who will take the time to get to know you, understand your goals, and challenge you to be your best. Because each trainer is certified, they have the knowledge and skills to help you get results without injury.
The certifications that the trainers have, give them a range of expertise from rehabilitation, mobility, strength training, balance and core training, and weight loss. And for each certification they hold, they’re required to do continuing education to keep it current.
Continuing education is possible through conferences, webinars, literature-based exams, and hands-on workshops. Trainers can complete them on their own, or they can do it together. Last year, the entire group went to Bellevue, WA for a weekend-long, hands-on TRX training, which is a form of suspension training that uses bodyweight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability
PROFESSIONAL INVESTMENT
The trainers choose how to keep their certifications current, and CBRC provides financial support so they can. Each trainer can be reimbursed a minimum of $150 a year, with an increasing amount depending on their years of experience.
Morgan appreciates that she works for an organization that provides development funding. She knows the trainers are worth it and that qualified staff is integral to CBRC meeting its promise of being the best part of your day. Morgan says, “When we invest in the trainers, we invest in our members. And when we’re at our best, we can help our clients be their best and seeing results is one of the reasons we chose to work in the fitness field.”
