Every year at this time, Columbia Basin Racquet Club invites members to participate in the Winter Warrior Challenge. The program runs from November 18 through January 12 and to join you pay a $12 entry fee.
For every week you work out a minimum of four times, you get a gold star next to your name on a poster board at the front desk. For every gold star you earn, your name is entered into a drawing to win prizes.
You also have the opportunity to give Alloy Training a try. As party of the challenge, you can get one month of Team Training (unlimited) for $54 or one month of Small Group (unlimited) for $74. Both of these have the price of the challenge included.
STAY ACCOUNTABLE
Morgan Fewel, the fitness director at CBRC, says the Winter Warrior Challenge is a perfect way to stay healthy and active. “Posting your name at check-in along with the more than 60 members who sign up will help keep you accountable during the holidays.”
There’s no age limit to be a Winter Warrior, so you can sign up your entire family or some friends so the challenge includes some friendly competition to keep you engaged.
WIN PRIZES
The program runs for 12 weeks and you can sign up at any point. If you don’t manage to make it to the gym four times every week, you’ll still be entered to win prizes for the weeks that you do. Prizes vary and include some CBRC-branded swag, a MyZone fitness tracker, or a massage.
EARN REWARDS
One benefit of participating in the program is the additional points you’ll earn through the member loyalty rewards program. Each time you check-in at the front desk, you earn five points and whenever you come to CBRC ten times or more in a month, then you get a 25-point bonus.
This means that if you’re diligent and are fully engaged in the challenge, you’ll earn at least 265 points. This amount of points will get you a CBRC t-shirt or a fanny pack for running, or a silicone wristband for your Apple watch.
SHARE REWARDS
While you’re exploring the rewards, you might want to consider how you can share your points during the holidays. Do you know someone who’s been thinking of joining a gym? You can give them a free month’s membership for just 500 points. Would one of your friends go to a group class with you if they didn’t have to worry about childcare? Give them a month of unlimited access to the Kids Club. Is your spouse stressed? Keep them happy with a 30-minute massage that’s available for 600 points.
MORE TO COME…
