Healthy Halloween Recipes

Costumes and candy. Those are the two essential C’s that everyone starts thinking about as soon as the calendar switches to October. Retailers have gone all out on decorating the stores with everything from ghosts, to witches, to pumpkins. One of the main switches are the aisles of candy that are overstocked on shelves in grocery stores. Wouldn’t it be amazing if there were healthy Halloween options? Well, have no fear, CBRC is here. We wanted to share some healthy alternatives to the traditional candy snacks. Everyone will be so impressed with the creativity, no one will notice the snacks are actually good for you!

You’ll need: 2 large carrots, Toothpicks, Curly-leaf parsley, Scallions, Hummus

Directions: Cut carrots into coin shapes and spear in the center with a toothpick. Add a parsley leaf to the top of the carrot (through the toothpick), and then cut a small piece of scallion and thread it onto the toothpick to use as the pumpkin stem. Spread store-bought hummus on a platter, dish, or tray to create the field, and arrange pumpkins on top.
