You don’t have to sign up for individual or group training sessions to take advantage of the expertise of the personal trainers at Columbia Basin Racquet Club.
In fact, you don’t even have to be at CBRC to learn how to improve your daily wellness routine. The trainers have started a daily “Trainer Talks” on Facebook Live. Each day they focus on a different theme:
- Monday Motivation
- Technique Tuesday
- Wednesday Warm-Up
- Thursday Thoughts
- Friday Food
EDUCATIONAL AND ENCOURAGING
Just recently, Matt Bunday gave tips on how to stay motivated while injured, Ryne Foster reviewed proper bench form, Jessica Phillips demonstrated dynamic warmups, Abi Garza shared info about the MyZone Fitness Tracker, and Tiffany Kinney talked about how to not giving in to unhealthy food cravings.
These instructional moments are usually no more than two minutes long. It’s a quick way to learn useful information and stay engaged in a healthy community. Best of all, if you aren’t able to catch the live stream, you can go back and watch them later.
CONVENIENT CONTENT
The CBRC Facebook page has other useful content to keep you track with your fitness goals. There are nutritional tips, encouragement, and updates on programs and schedules. You can also get quick links to healthy, yummy recipes like Grown-Up Brownies or Five Alarm Flank Kabobs.
If you participate in any programs, such as Balanced Habits, you can also be part of private Facebook groups so you can interact with other members, support each other through challenges, and share successes.
SENSE OF COMMUNITY
Nothing replaces being physically present at CBRC to workout and take advantage of the facilities. But staying connected through social media, will enhance your participation. You’ll get to know the staff and learn about programs and opportunities. You’ll learn helpful tips that will inform your workout and nutritional habits. Perhaps the best part is getting to know other members so that when you are at the gym, you feel like you’re working out with friends with common goals.
