From the moment you walk into Columbia Basin Racquet Club, you can sense that it’s more than a gym. It’s a gathering space where you’re welcomed and feel like you belong.
RECEPTION DESK
The first thing you do at CBRC is check-in at the reception desk. It won’t take too many visits before the staff recognize you at a glance and may even check you in before you have time to hand them your card.
Information about programs and services is available at the front desk, so you can pick up a handout of the pool schedules, details about the Balanced Habits, activities for kids, or upcoming launches and workshops. You can also purchase equipment and branded gear at the retail space located directly behind the front counter.
You have to stop at the front desk when you enter CBRC, but don’t forget to stop on the way out to get a post-workout smoothie to help you refuel or pour a complimentary cup of coffee.
THE DELI
If you need more than a smoothie, then stop by The Deli for a range of food items. You can grab a quick snack or drink or feed your family before heading home
There’s plenty of seating available so you can sit and enjoy a meal or visit with friends. Because there’s guest WIFI, you can also bring your devices or laptop and get some work done – or share that you’re at the gym on social media – before or after your workout.
BIRTHDAY BOARD
Every day of the week, the whiteboard at the top of stairs by The Deli is updated to list the names of each member who has a birthday. This small touch means that every individual member is recognized each year. And chances are if you come to CBRC on your birthday, a staff member is going to wish you a happy birthday in person. Whether you go to the gym that day or not, you’ll receive 50 rewards points to help you celebrate.
And don’t forget that if your child is having a birthday, you can schedule their party at CBRC. You provide the food and friends and staff provide the activities and fun.
LENDING LIBRARY
A new addition to the top floor is a lending library underneath the birthday board. This amenity is perfect for people who want to read while they’re on the elliptical or bike but forgot their book at home. There are also comfy chairs next to the library where you read while your kids are in swimming lessons or your spouse finishes a group exercise class. Members are asked to return books when they’re finished and to donate family-friendly books to help the library grow.
COMMUNITY & CAMARADERIE
You’ll experience a sense of belonging in all the spaces around CBRC, but this is especially true of the main entrance. Take a moment to look around you the next time you check-in. You’ll immediately notice the social atmosphere and camaraderie that comes with members and staff who work together to create a healthy community.
